Y'know, given that gargoyles in the sense of a bat-winged humanoid have no mythological basis -- the word "gargoyle" comes from the French "gargouille," meaning throat or gullet, and specifically refers to the architectural drainage feature -- you have to wonder what biological process could occur that would result in convergent evolution between humanoids and the common downspout. #monsterdon
